Really easy, good Italian Bread or pizza dough for "brick-oven" pizza at home!

Seriously, this recipe is so easy a baby can do it! A very fast and simple way to make your very own delicious, wholegrain Italian bread or pizza dough at home. Yes, your family and friends will be thrilled and amazed at your impressive baking skills. You can double this batch and freeze a few easy enough, and don't forget to pick up some dry yeast at the market and whole-wheat pastry flour at the health food store.

Ingredients: Directions:

First.....Dissolve yeast, warm water, and sugar in a small bowl.
  1. In a large bowl or stand mixer, combine hot water, granulated sugar, salt, and oil. Add 1 1/2 cups of flour to the mixture in the large bowl/mixer and mix well. Stir in yeast mixture.
  2. Add the remaining 1– 1 1/2 cups flour and mix until well blended. (At this point your dough will still be quite sticky). Leave in bowl covered with plastic wrap and let rise for 1 hour on the warm stove, mixing a few strokes a couple of times during the hour.
  3. Divide dough into 2 pieces (or four). For Italian bread: roll out each piece on a floured surface into the length desired then roll up length wise (long) like a jelly roll. You can brush with butter or a beaten egg (for a glossy loaf) and sometimes I like to sprinkle with sesame seeds, or mix in herbs like rosemary, chopped garlic and maybe some cheese. Make 1/8" slash marks on the loaf with a very sharp knife.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until done.
  5. * To make "brick oven" pizza at home. Let the pizza-stone pre-heat in the oven at 500* Roll out the dough (thin), add sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni or veggies and place on a side-less cookie sheet (or cutting board) dusted first with some corn meal to easily (carefully!) slide the pizza onto the hot pizza-stone.
ENJOY!!!
